ABA Foundation 2020 Scholarship Opportunity [Extended to Oct 30]

Dear Community Members and Future Applicants,

In 2000, to broaden its charitable work in the community, the ABA Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, was formed as a separate but affiliate of the Asian Business Association of San Diego.  

The Purpose of the ABA Foundation is to further develop current and future business leaders with, but not limited to:

Nominate a Small Business for a "We Care" Package!

Do you know a small business that could use a special "We Care" package? 

Thanks to the generous support of our partners at SDG&E, ABASD SBDC will be selecting a few businesses at random to receive a free "We Care" Package containing:

- GLOVES (50 PAIRS)

- MASKS (50 PAIRS)

- HAND SANITIZER (20 - 20Z PERSONAL)

- SDG&E BRANDED SOCIAL DISTANCING FLOOR SIGNS (5 PER PACKAGE)

SAN DIEGO AND IMPERIAL SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CENTERS TO PROVIDE SMALL BUSINESS TRAINING TO ADAPT TO COVID-19 ENVIRONMENT, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH SUPERVISOR NATHAN FLETCHER

SAN DIEGO (May 20, 2020) -- Supervisor Nathan Fletcher and the San Diego and Imperial Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network, with funding by the US Small Business Administration (SBA) and the California Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (Go-Biz), have partnered to prepare small business owners to navigate required for reopening during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Asian Business Association & Mission Driven Finance Launch Region’s First Asian Pacific Islander Impact Fund Dedicated to Small Businesses

SAN DIEGO, CA (November 19, 2019) - Asian Business Association San Diego (ABASD) and locally-based impact investment firm Mission Driven Finance launch the region’s first Asian Pacific Islander (API) Impact Fund. The “AdvanceAPI Fund” will support economic security and advancement of San Diego’s API community through access to capital and workforce development for small businesses alongside Mission Driven Finance’s existing Advance strategy.

Asian Business Association Expands SBDC Partnership With $200,000 In Grant Funding

(October 28, 2019) - Through a renewed commitment of a $50,000 grant from the Wells Fargo Foundation, Asian Business Association San Diego (ABASD) has leveraged an additional $50,000 match from the US Small Business Administration, and an additional $100,000 match from the California Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development Small Business Technical Assistance Expansion Program.
