If you have a small business you may qualify to participate in a business training program offered by ABA's new Business Development Resource Center (BDRC)! The BDRC helps small and disadvantaged businesses and entrepreneurs build a foundation for business success.

Purpose of Program

The Excellence in Small Businesses Management (ESBM) Training Program is an entrepreneur skills enhancement and small business development project sponsored by the Asian Business Association of San Diego. The purpose of this program is to provide San Diego Area small business owners with a competitive edge management training that will support and facilitate the growth of their business to the next level of financial success.

Course Content and Business Owner Benefits

The 40-hour training program will be taught by principal consultant, developer and instructor for the program Rick Sims, of Human Systems Consulting, a knowledgeable expert in small business development.

Here are a few of the topics you will learn:

  •       Executive Strategy Building

  •       Developing a Business Plan

  •       Operations Management for Peak Performance

  •       Setting up a Fiscal Control System

  •       Developing a Marketing Plan

  •       Developing Strategic Partnerships

Who is Eligible?

To register for the Excellence in Small Business Management Program:

  1. You must employ between one to nine full time employees, excluding owners.

  2. You must provide your business's CEAN (California Employer Account Number) and provide a copy of the last quarterly wage and withholding report form.

  3. You must be the owner, and own a minimum of 20% of your company.

  4. You must be committed to attend all required 40 program hours.   

Time and Location

Participants will determine the class meeting dates and time of the 40 hour training program, and the class schedule will be highly flexible to meet your availability. San Diego location TBD.
