Dr. Thomas Wang

Dr. Thomas Wang was trained in Family Medicine at the University of Michigan with a subsequent fellowship in Sports Medicine. He was on-site physician for multiple sporting venues including the Chicago marathon, triathlon, amateur boxing, and professional women’s tennis. He has published multiple papers and provided talks in musculoskeletal and sports medicine. He was a faculty member and the Director of the Sports Medicine Fellowship and Director of Employee Health at MacNeal Hospital prior to coming to Kaiser. For nearly the last two decades, he has been practicing Occupational Medicine and taking care of “Industrial Athletes'' with KPOJ. 

Dr. Thomas Wang has been a practicing physician in Occupational Medicine with SCPMG (Southern California Permanente Medical Group) for the last two decades. In this role, he provides medical care for injured workers throughout San Diego. Administratively, he manages the physicians and clinics in San Diego as the Chief of Occupational Medicine. He also serves as the Regional Chief for Occupational Medicine for Southern California and Hawaii and guides strategic direction and business implementation. Dr. Wang is also a Physician Ambassador for the Permanente Medical Group. In this role, he assists in providing perspective on medical matters in terms of impact on business operations.Prior to joining SCPMG, Dr. Wang was trained in Family Medicine with a subsequent fellowship in Sports Medicine. He has published and edited multiple papers and provided talks in musculoskeletal and sports medicine across the country. Past work experience includes being a Family Practice faculty member, the Director of a Sports Medicine Fellowship, as well as being a Director of Employee Health.
